Graphic Products will increase operations in fiscal 2016, as the company has purchased a new building, offering 77,500 square feet on its corporate campus. The property addition will result in a 43% increase in operational capacity, positively impacting all facets of the business – from engineering, to warehouse operations, to sales. The company will renovate the property, investing an estimated six figures into the project, which will be fully staffed by 2016. “It is both our recent, and planned future expansion of our product lines and services that is driving our growth,” says Steve Stephenson, chief strategy officer with Graphic Products. “The expansion of our assembly and manufacturing operations have brought more work into the company and jobs to the US. Continued investment in engineering has resulted in new equipment and software offerings. We are also expanding the scope of our business to include more sign and labeling products as well as safety products.” The company’s history is built on expansion. Graphic Products evolved from distributing a wide array of poster printers, label makers and engravers to becoming a global leader in the design, manufacturing and sales of workplace labeling and signage systems. Over the course of 45 years, the woman-owned and family-run company has designed visual communication solutions for space exploration, military missions, deep sea diving, mining, education and more. The company launched its flagship brand in 2001, introducing the DuraLabel line of thermal transfer label printers. “Graphic Products was founded in Portland in 1970,” adds Dave Smart, chief operating officer at Graphic Products. “By 1977, growth moved us to Beaverton and we’ve called the city home ever since. The Portland metropolitan area attracts good people, and good people are what drive Graphic Products forward.”
